CROP WALK STATEMENT: In accord with the decision of Catholic Relief Services, the international relief organization of the U.S. Bishops, to withdraw as a designated agency of CROP Walk, parishes are instructed not to participate in or promote CROP Walk. Instead, parishes are encouraged to find ways to support other international relief efforts, as well as local efforts such as food pantries and meals for the homeless. An alternative hunger/poverty event has been created by the Peace and Social Justice Ministry in cooperation with CRS. Further details about this program can be found at www.paxjoliet.org/step .
