Summer Witness In Mission

Summer Witness In Mission  (S.W.I.M). offers high school teens an opportunity to participate in Christian service. It began as a local mission centered in the Joliet Diocese and is expanding to a border experience and soon to an international mission as well. As participants travel to the different regions of the diocese with the local SWIM or beyond with SWIM: Beyond Boundaries and SWIM: International, they are called to a unique ministry outreach. This experience involves youth physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually allowing students to reach 4 very important goals.

  • High School S.W.I.M. is a 6 day - 5 night experience for 9th - 12th graders. Each day includes work at a designated site, prayer, reflection, recreation and of course 3 meals. Service activities include but are not necessarily limited to painting, child care, yard work, farm work, visiting senior citizens and challenged adults, as well as helping at a food pantry. Dates for 2008: August 4 - 9. Download brochure & application.
  • The Junior High S.W.I.M. follows the same format, but is a 5 day - 4 night experience. Not Scheduled for 2008.
  • NEW!!! Beyond Boundaries: A Mexico/US Border Immersion Experience for Youth Not Scheduled for 2008.
