National Disaster Recovery Mission to Alabama

The National Disaster Recovery Mission of the Diocese of Joliet is calling for volunteers for a mission to Birmingham, Alabama, the site of severe tornado damage this past spring.

The mission will be for one week; lodging, food and all materials and tools are provided by the Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS) with whom we partner. Anyone interested in participating in this mission please call or email the Joliet Diocese Office for Human Dignity. 1-815-834-4028 or missions@dioceseofjoliet.org

The mission is scheduled for the week of October 21-27. We will leave the Chicago area on Sunday and return the following Saturday.

Any able bodied folks are welcome to participate; those with construction experience are particularly needed. Come and join us for a rewarding experience in helping those in need - the poorest of the poor without insurance or the ability to rebuild without our aid and assistance.

If you cannot participate in the October mission, but have an interest in future missions, please contact the office to be notified of developments.

The Catholic Construction Corps - National  Disaster Recovery Mission is an outreach of the Office for Human Dignity - Missions Program, Deacon Bruce Carlson coordinator.
