 Who is the Mission-Moderator
... a member of the faculty appointed by the principal whose task is to raise the level of mission awareness among the students in the school or catechesis program.

What is "mission awareness?"
... an awareness that when we we’re baptized we became members of God's family .. that this means that we have brothers and sisters all over the world in our global church, that these brothers and sisters need our help because they are hungry or sick or homeless... and that we can help them by praying for them every day, learning more about them, and sharing with them.

What qualifications are needed to be a Mission Moderator?

  • a love of the missions, our global community, and an appreciation of their importance in the life of the Church;
  • a willingness to put energy into the third outcome of the Religion Guidelines (9/96): "Promote the mission of the Church through evangelization and sacrifice of time, talent, and treasure."

What does a Mission Moderator do?

  • Reads the HCA materials and makes decisions regarding ordering materials from HCA by the requested deadlines.
  • Develops a goal-oriented plan for the year to foster mission awareness among students and faculty.
  • Receives, throughout the year, all mailings from the Holy Childhood Association Coordinator and disseminates them to the faculty.
  • Acts as a liaison with the Holy Childhood Association.
  • Works with his or her office (principal, accountant, or bookkeeper) to ensure that monies collected for the Holy Childhood Association are forwarded to:
