Re: U. S. Budget appropriations for the
Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2005, Title II.

Dear Colleagues working against human trafficking,

This is a request to you for an
immediate action needed in our collaborative stance against Human Trafficking.  Thank you for your continued action on this vital issue.

Please call your federal representatives and senators to ask them to support federal appropriations for
Title II of the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2005.

In addition to contacting your senators and representatives, it helps very much to
call the Senate and House Budget Committee Chairs, because they must record and report any contacts made to them.
Senate Chair:  Senator Judd Gregg  R- New Hampshire
House Chair:  Representative Jim Nussle R- Iowa

Call the U.S. Capitol switchboard (202) 224-3121 for all the above calls.

Background Information:
The 2007 federal budget will be discussed, and decisions will be made in early February. Title II of the TVPRA 2005, provides for the “investigation, prosecution and education of those charged with or convicted of purchasing or attempting to purchase commercial sex acts.” Funding for Title II is crucial because it addresses the 'demand' side of trafficking.
