Dear NRDC Action Fund Supporter,
I recently sent you
an email about our do-or-die out campaign to defeat
President Bush's Dirty Skies bill, which is nearing
a critical vote in the Senate Environment Committee.
Because your own Senator
Obama is a member of that committee, you have an especially
important role to play in this fight for clean air.
Right now, the Environment Committee is deadlocked
over this dangerous legislation. That means your senator's
vote could decide its fate.
Make sure Senator Obama
knows where you stand! If you haven't done so already,
please go to http://www.nrdcactionfund.org/cleanair/action.asp?step=2&item=52456
right now and send a message telling both your senators
you oppose the president's so-called Clear Skies bill
(S. 131).
Compared to enforcing
the current law, this bill would force Americans to
suffer 100,000 additional early deaths, two million
additional asthma attacks and tens of billions of
dollars in annual health costs -- all so that big
polluters and the president's corporate campaign contributors
can evade their responsibilities.
Help us break their
stranglehold on Congress and our right to clean air!
Go to http://www.nrdcactionfund.org/cleanair/action.asp?step=2&item=52456
and tell your senators to vote NO on S. 131. Thank
you.
Sincerely,
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
