alert: The Rental Housing Support
Program Bill S.B. 520 passed out of the House of Representatives and
has moved to Senate. If you have not yet contacted your senators, please call them TODAY or
MONDAY before they head back to Springfield on Tuesday for the final
week of veto session. Ask them to vote yes on SB520. The Rental Housing Support Program bill (S.B. 520)
would create a state-funded rental assistance program to provide
subsidies directly to landlords who would make housing affordable to
households earning less than $19,000 a year. The program would be funded
through an $11* charge on real estate recordings.
