I. Illinois is Home Campaign Kicks Off - Take Action Now!
Today marks the launch of the Illinois is Home Campaign. "Illinois is Home" is backed by a diverse, broad-based coalition including faith and labor groups. The three pillars of the "Illinois is Home" campaign are: 1) Pass Comprehensive Immigration Reform now, including a path to earned citizenship for the undocumented, reuniting families, and restoring civil liberties. Tell your legislator to support Comprehensive Immigration Reform here: http://capwiz.com/icirr/issues/alert/?alertid=9052716&type=ML&azip=60618&bzip=7530&show_alert=1. 2) Citizenship: to tear down the "Second Wall" and help immigrants become citizens. Tell USCIS to tear down the "Second Wall" here: http://capwiz.com/icirr/issues/alert/?alertid=9451936&type=CU&azip=60618&bzip=7530&show_alert=1. 3) State Initiatives: to help immigrants learn English, become citizens and get drivers' certificates. Tell your legislators to support the Road Safety and Mandatory Insurance Coverage Act (HB 1100) here: http://capwiz.com/icirr/issues/alert/?alertid=9391276&type=ST&azip=60618&bzip=7530&show_alert=1. Please visit us at www.illinoisishome.org for more information about the campaign. On this website, you can also learn about volunteer opportunities, donate to the campaign, find additional resources on Comprehensive Immigration Reform, citizenship and these state initiatives. Also, on Thursday, March 15th at 7 pm, we will be hosting a training on how to fight for legislative action. The location is to be announced. For more information on this training, please contact Veronica Castro at vcastro@icirr.org or 312-332-7360, ext. 10.
